Seven hundred years before the cross, Isaiah wrote that He would be wounded for our transgressions, and that with His stripes we are healed. This design shows Jesus with His head bowed beneath the crown of thorns, and the whole figure is made of Scripture. Every line is a verse about what He carried for us: Isaiah 53, 1 Peter 2:24, Galatians 2:20, John 3:16, John 19:30, Romans 5:8, and more. The crown itself is written in red from Matthew 27:29.
